AWFUL PRODUCT! DEFECTIVE MANUAL! DEFECTIVE SOFTWARE! DEFECTIVE DEVICE!May 27, 2006
By Richard Davis
"Computer & Gadget Geek"
I have purchased hundreds of products on Amazon, and this is the worst! The price was great, and, of course, it was too good to be true. I purchased five of these, thinking my friends would love them. The manual is a small piece of paper that refers to an install directory that doesn't exist (and also assumes that your CD-ROM is your "G" drive). The set-up drivers were referred to as being for a device with a serial port, and this is supposed to be a USB device! The SIM card could not fully seat in the device. Of course, the device could not be seen by my computer. I was just thankful that this piece of junk did not trash my SIM card, and cause me to lose all of my addresses. I found this item elsewhere on the internet as a closeout, I think someone is just trying to dump some worthless junk. This is my first negative review of a product on eBay. People deserve to be warned about this product.

Do not buy thisMay 29, 2006

There are too many files you must hunt for online that are not on the cd. If you can read Chinese you may fare better than reading the English instructions for the software. I'm returning mine and will try something a little more expensive but from a company with better quality control.

Might *possibly* work with Win98 but not XP, VistaJun 28, 2007

As far as I've gotten in driver installation on an XP laptop and Vita desktop, the drivers will install only to a Win98 system. Nothing available on the web as an upgraded driver. Forget this one.

USB Sim Card Reader works easily once you figure it outOct 13, 2010
By Mark Jamgochian As you all know every thing is easy once you figure it out.
I have a Windows XP Computer. I must say it took some time to figure it out because the instructions were pretty vague. I only wanted to back up my phone numbers from my Sim card. Once I got the application with my phone numbers, I just ended up printing them out, because it was the easiest.
On the Cd it has all these other applications which makes it confusing. The file you want is USB to Sim Card Reader 1.1. Hopefully this will save you some time.
1. Insert Disk, go to "My Computer" open it up, Look for the driver it is on, it will read V.1.353D(F:),or (E:) On mine I opened the CD on my (F:)drive. Once you open it up it will have a tool bar, go to the far right and you will see a little box. Left click on it. Change it from Thumbnails to List. You will see a list of folders, I went down the list until I found USB to Sim Card Reader. Click on it.
Click on windows. When it opens
there is a list of four things.
applications
driver
manual
readme.txt
I went down to manual, clicked on it, and it opened up in micro soft word, then I printed out the instructions(USB to Sim Card Reader Manual)
1. Install the driver first which will say, "Setup for pl2303hx.exe."
and follow the prompt to finish.
2. Install Application Sim-card-reader, or Sim-card-editor.
Sim Card reader can only read information from your sim card.
I install the Sim card editor so I could read and write information from my Sim Card.
3. I plugged in the USB Sim Card Reader device, and the application window opened up with my phone numbers. You right click for options so your names are in alphabetical order.
Then I realized my Nokia cell phone stored some phone numbers on my Sim card, and some on the cell phone itself. Now I need to call At&t and see if I can transfer all my phone numbers to my Sim card. Then I will be looking good in the future if my cell phone gets lost, or my Sim card malfunctions.
Good luck, it does work, it does take patients.
