It splits the signal into three separate channels of video and two channels of audio, giving you crystal clear picture and stereo sound all in one cable. Using this cable will allow you to play Wii games in progressive scan mode, which displays more detail and offers a high quality, crisp picture. Playing games in progressive scan reduces flickering on your TV set and minimizes the "ghosting" effect seen on video games running in 480i. Most Nintendo Wii games run in 480p mode, so why not take advantage of your high definition or enhanced definition TV and play your games with the best possible graphics? The Wii component cable will allow you to do just that, providing a clear, sharp, and vibrant gaming experience. Note: you must have a TV with component video inputs (blue, green and red) in order to use this cable. | | | Features: | |

Nothing SpecialDec 12, 2011
By Additional King I haven't noticed any significant difference in picture quality on my 46'' Samsung, but then against there isn't really much of a difference between 480i and 480p - that's just a flaw of the Wii compared to other consoles. It does the job, though.
Also keep in mind that Amazon's labeling is deceptive - this is not an official Nintendo product. It is made by a no-name third-party.

This product works exactly as advertised. I definately noticed better picture quality and better sound also.
I don't understand why the guy that said it didn't work for him had a problem. It's color coded, so it's almost impossible to hook up wrong. This is an excellant product and excellant price also. Maybe Nintendo should consider this item as standard instead of the vga cable. Better yet, since most new TV's come with multiple HDMI inputs they should consider one of those for a standard cable.
This cable is excellant and I don't know how the picture could be more perfect.

Good productDec 28, 2010
By Eric Apante I just got a new HD flat screen TV and wanted to get the best quality from my Wii and simplify all the wiring. This item took care of those issues. It was $5 cheaper than the local big box store plus no sales tax, shipped to me quickly and free because I bought other items to qualify it.

After hooking up our Wii to our large screen TV with the standard cables, we decided to go ahead and buy the component cables that Nintendo recommended. What a difference! The sound quality is especially impressive. We have Dolby Digital surround sound and the new cables have improved our Mario Cart experience enormously. The resolution is improved to a certain extent also - enough to justify buying the cables. Considering the growing number of HDTVs, Nintendo should just make them original equipment.

By Mike The cables work perfect for my Wii on my HDTV. They are well worth buying and I reccommend buying a set.
