Works well..Sep 04, 2006

I have been using it for six months now, No issues yet, works as advertized. Remote is pretty small & inconveninet to operate, but if you have a learning remote you only need to copy 4 codes and will never have to use the small remote again.

Pleasantly surprised with this switchNov 15, 2009
By David Nobel I purchased this switch to add additional optical inputs to the outboard DAC in my stereo system. My PS3 was already using up the one input, and I recently added a Roku player and an HTPC--my Macbook Pro running Plex and Hulu. My Harmony 550 remote easily controls it along with all my other components. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality and functionality for the money.
PROS Sound quality adequate for home theater use Good build quality Flexible connection options Small and unobtrusive Already in Harmony remote database for ease of programming Reasonably priced Green status LEDs in front are visible but not distracting
CONS None I have encountered so far

D.O.A.-Waiting to see what happens.../Updated 12/15/09Oct 30, 2009
By John Hopper I order this video switcher because I needed something that would let me send V/A signals from my TiVo, my DVR, and my old VCR to my Phillips DVDr with 160gb HDD. First thing I notice was on one area of it's package it stated that it had S-Video, Optical Audio, and COMPONENT Video in/out puts. This is a misprint. It has Composite in/out puts. Not a big thing, cause I wanted Composite anyway. Once out of the box, it's very, very, light weight. It has the feel of just a "tin box", but it does look exactly like it looks on Amazon.com. I hooked up all my connections and the first thing that happen when the unit was placed down on my entertainment center was that the weight of the composite cables connected to it caused it to be "back heavy", it's front end up in the air. Now I was using just stander composite cables, not Monster cables or heavy duty cables. Again, not a major problem. When I had everything all hooked up, and plugged in the switcher, the power light turn on and the light for switch 1 turned on, but I was only getting audio no video from switch 1. I tried switch 2. The switcher would not switch to switch 2. I could press the switch 2 button, but nothing would happen. Then I tried switch 3. This switch's button would not even work. It would not budge. It was stuck somehow. I retried all my cables and connections, but the switcher unit would not work at all. I have contacted the seller, and after explaining my problems with the unit, I was sent an email with a RA# and instructions on how to return the unit. I had to pay $14.81 in postage to shipped it back to Canada. I have advised the seller that I expect my postage fees to be refunded. Until this problem is resolved, I'll hold back on posting any feedback to give the seller a chance to do what is right. I must say that the time between my order and the time I received the video switcher was very quick. I hope I'll be able to post a better review of the product soon.
UPDATE: On December 7th, I received my replacement for the DOA unit. After hooking up this new unit it is working out great for what I needed. Hook up was simple and straight forward (even though the SW200 Video Switcher doesn't come with any manual at all, just a rather plain warranty paper). I do notice a slight degradation of video(but this is probably due to using Composite in/out). Audio seem fine. I think those who can use the S-video and Toslink connections would get a sharper picture. All in all I'm please with this unit, and yes, the seller reimbursed my [...] return postage.

Good value for the moneyJun 23, 2010
By Joe Smart I purchased this because I don't have enough digital inputs on my cheap Insignia receiver. This switch is a good value for the money and works well. I have never used the remote that came with the unit since there is a code to add this to my Logitech Universal Remote. I wish there were more information regarding what the range of sound this unit can process is but there are no real tech specs in the manual. To test it I played my loudest blu-ray (the UK import of Susperia) through the switcher and with the sound going directly into my receiver. I did notice a difference in the sound. The soundtrack was fuller and had more presence when the sound went directly into the receiver. However, the difference was not significant enough to be a problem for me. Still, someone who has a higher end sound system might want to consider purchasing a more expensive switcher than this. For my set-up this works fine and the sound is good.

SW200 Just My Opinion !Mar 30, 2010
By Scott J. O. Lenick

I purchased the SW200 S-Video switch box over a month ago to hookup 3 devices and so far it has been good product.
Easy hookup to DVD, VCR and FIOS. Video and sound quality is very good. Has a remote control that makes switching between devices a piece of cake. The only concern I do have is with the remote. I found the IR remote distance is around 6ft with a straight line of sight to the SW200 switch box. Other than that it's a quality product with a nice design style. For what I need it works out well however, I would recommend this product to others who are looking to control multiple devices to one TV.
Hope this review helps!
