Haven't gotten it to work yet...Mar 12, 2010
By Rickster Though not clear to me from the specifications, the receiver for this microphone is designed to be plugged into a "microphone-level input".
My (most) stereos do not have a "microphone input" - the inputs (like CD, Tape etc.) are "line-level".
The signal output (mic-level) is much lower than line-level and it just doesn't work.
The output cord is also a 1/4" mono plug. Probably not what your stereo has as an input - unless maybe it has a microphone input.
When I contacted the vendor, they incorrectly told me that all I had to do was buy an adapter to convert the 1/4" mono plug to a 3.5mm plug.
(that not only wouldn't solve the level problem, but - as I mentioned to them - my stereo wants dual RCA inputs, not a 3.5mm plug).
You can plug it in (with an adapter) to the phono input of your stereo, but the tonal balance is all off.
You might be able to plug it into the microphone input of a PC (with appropriate adapter).
I didn't try that.
If you don't have a mic-input, or mic-amplifier, this is NOT the product for you.
