Using the card isn't a problem, but getting the contents of the card to your personal computer normally requires third-party hardware. Enter the SanDisk Ultra II SD Plus, which hopes to solve this problem by conveniently changing from an SD card into a USB 2.0 flash drive via folding. The SanDisk Ultra II SD Plus card is manufactured to be compatible with existing SD card solutions, yet it has an elegant ability to fold, which exposes a set of USB connectors for insertion directly into a USB port. The hinges that allow the card to fold in half are plastic, but are solid and firm enough to be used many times without damage. | | | Features: | |

Extreme ConvenienceMar 11, 2008

These SD cards with USB plugs from San Disk are extremely convenient. They're sturdy, ingeniously designed, and reasonably priced. This is my second one, and my first, a 1 Gb model has served me well in heavy use for more than a year. I'll be buying more. (They make great gifts too -- anyone who uses SD cards hasn't got one will appreciate it.)
Postscript: More than a year later of heavy use and this thing is still going strong. Get the newest one in the biggest size you can, but this style of USB / SD card from SanDisk is a solid winner.

Not sure who introduced this idea of the USB functionality in an SD card but they should get a Nobel prize in something. I've used this card with different cameras, most recently with Canon G9 and it's such a joy not having to have a card reader or cable around. It works great.

Faster than advertisedMay 21, 2008
By J. Myers I bought this card because older SD card readers cannot read the newer SDHC cards and I wanted the convenience of not needing a card reader. I assumed I would have to settle with the performance of the slower class 4 instead of the faster class 6 available with other SDHC cards.
What I realized when I tested it was it is actually faster than my class 6 sdhc card, as tested on a usb 2.0 card reader. I got writes in the 10-11MB/s range and reads around 20MB/s.
This card is a total no-brainer, excellent.

A Perfect Product!! The smartest thing to come out for Digital Camera's.Feb 25, 2008
By J. Seria A Perfect Product!! The smartest thing to come out for Digital Camera's. I love this product. The ability to act as a memory card for your camera and a jump drive is great!! This makes sharing and transferring pics so easy because you don't need a card reader. And forget about needing a jump drive, this is smaller and a lot more versatile.
